Skill Haven is a platform that allows users to offer and exchange skills with each other in a simple and engaging way. Whether someone wants to learn guitar, improve their cooking, or get tips on graphic design, they can easily connect with others who have the expertise they’re looking for. The platform lets users offer their skills while learning something new from others, creating a vibrant and mutually beneficial community. Skill Haven encourages connections that help people grow together, while features like user profiles, reviews, and messaging ensure trust and easy communication throughout the process.
Goal
For my second UX/UI project, I wanted to design a website for a unique service I had no previous experience with. That’s when I came up with Skill Haven—a platform that would connect people looking to exchange skills in a simple and engaging way. As a new designer, it was a great opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and create something completely unique.
The goal of Skill Haven is to provide a user-friendly platform where people can easily share their expertise and learn from one another. I wanted to make sure the design felt approachable and intuitive to help build a supportive, dynamic community. It was my first time designing both a mobile website and a desktop version of a project. I used a mobile-first approach and utilized progressive enhancement to make sure the user experience was great on both platforms.
